    Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) has requested a reduction in GST rates on two-wheelers in India. They proposed different slabs for different types of two-wheelers to lower the rates. Siam also wants the removal of the 3% cess on high cubic capacity bikes.

    Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India sold 4,50,589 units in India in May, 45 per cent higher than 3,11,144 units dispatched in May 2023. Exports increased to 41,458 units in May from 18,248 units in the year ago period. Total sales last month rose to 4,92,047 units from 3,29,393 units sold in May 2023.

    Bajaj Auto total sales flat at 3.55 lakh units in May

    Bajaj Auto's sales remained flat at 3,55,323 units in May. The automaker had sold 3,55,148 units in May 2023. Total domestic sales declined 1 per cent to 2,25,087 units in May from 2,28,401 units sold in the year-ago period. Exports rose 3 per cent at 1,30,236 last month from 1,26,747 previous May.
