Mission

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, School of Art and Design is the oldest art school in Switzerland.
Core activity is the provision of various tertiary studies on BA- and MA level.
The Lucerne University comprises excellent and innovative programmes not only in design and art but also in engineering, technology, IT, business, social work and music. Our interdisciplinary approach gives us a unique profile for a strong curriculum and outstanding research.
Design and Art work closely together in a dynamic and fruitful exchange to contribute to social and cultural issues.

Our educational emphasis lies on practical experience and hands-on training.
Professors and students work closely together in small classes and well equipped workshops.
In addition to that a solid and strong theoretical background enables our graduates to succeed in the global job market and to become outstanding pioneers in artistic, creative and cultural developments and cooperations.
