I support a person's right to freely express themselves on the internet, however when they make a contribution to a GitHub repository, their user name is visible in many different views, and this affects the public impression of the repo. GitHub allows me to "block" a user but that is too strong. Maybe the person comes from a different cultural context or perhaps they don't speak English very well.
We should be able to discretely report the issue to GitHub, who could politely ask the user to rename their profile. However this is not one of the available options:
Ideally GitHub should reject common offensive words in the settings page before assigning a user name, but that is not the case.

What is GitHub's approach for this problem?
