I wish there was a way in MovingPandas to turn a GeoDataFrame into a trajectory collection so that the functions from the MovingPandas Library can be implement fast on large GeoDataFrames created from the to_traj_gdf.
The only way I’ve found to do this is:
Convert LineStrings to Points
Then re-create trajectories this way
Which for large datasets takes a very long time. All of the trajectories in the GeoDataFrame was originally created with to_traj_gdf, but it seems there is no way to go “back” to the TrajectoryCollection object.
It would be very helpful if there was a fast "way" to get to a trajectory collection.
